Lumien is making the leap into the US market!
Lumien is launching in the US – as we set up our first stateside base in Colorado Springs.

After launching in the UK in 2019 to help to empower individuals to take control of their mental health and wellbeing, our focus is firmly on integrating with the processes of employers to better manage workplace mental health.

By launching in the US, we now plan to take this one step further to create a world where employee wellbeing is a priority.

Expanding across the Atlantic

Lumien’s first US base is in Colorado Springs, an up-and-coming US business centre, recognised for its positive lifestyle and recognised as the 6th best place to live in the US.

The move follows a huge spike in resignation rates in 2021 across the US, nicknamed ‘The Great Resignation’, highlighting the need for a greater investment into workplace culture that supports both employers and employees. Lumien’s launch into the US hopes to pave the way for employers, embedding wellness and culture into their business strategy.

Co-founder and director at Lumien, Christopher Golby, discusses the reasons for the company’s first US base being located in Colorado Springs: “Colorado Springs’ essence aligns with Lumien’s core purpose, getting businesses talking and acting on workplace wellbeing. It’s a place that’s been geared up for modern working life, with employees reflecting on their priorities and expecting a more enlightened employer.

“Colorado Springs offers a great location for expanding business, with a time zone that allows you to communicate with Europe and Asia within one working day.

“There’s support within Colorado Springs, not just for the business community, but across the large veteran community, presenting a unique opportunity to support the individuals who dedicate their lives to the US Armed Forces.”

Over the recent years, the city’s focus on wellbeing and positive lifestyles has attracted a growing number of people and businesses, which we hope to become a central part of by demonstrating the importance of a wellbeing strategy for US business.

Workplace mental health

Today’s workplace is completely different from two years ago. The effects of the pandemic have seen a major, worldwide impact on mental health, so it’s never been more important to take action.

To emphasise the importance of a proactive approach in the current turbulent workplace environment, Chris says: “Businesses need to proactively invest in providing their leaders with ‘tools’ to effectively monitor and respond to wellbeing issues. As many businesses now struggle to fill posts, stakes are high. Job vacancies are currently at record levels, and many businesses are still struggling to recruit even with higher salary offers.

“Our launch into the US has come at a critical time to help protect and improve workplace mental health in a location that’s prioritising higher standards of life and a growing entrepreneurial community.”

Lumien creates robust wellbeing strategies for workplaces, to get wellbeing and culture on every board meeting agenda when employees need it most.
